Welcome to The Joy of Reuse, a space exploring the social benefits of reuse for you and your community. Reuse isn’t just good for the planet and your wallet; it's fun, collaborative, offline, and unique to you. Like everything positive in the world, it’s even better when it’s shared!

Inside, you’ll find social media templates, campaign stickers, stencils for creative projects, and plenty of ideas on how to take part. All designed to highlight the social benefits of reuse and bring communities together.

Reuse is more than an eco-friendly choice. It’s about finding joy in the things we already have, the people we share them with and the creativity that comes from doing things differently.

From the thrill of finding a secondhand treasure to making, fixing, sharing and refilling together, there are so many ways to make reuse part of everyday life.

Discover the four joys of reuse below.

Resale is not just about finding unique and quality items - or finding a new home for the things you have when you no longer need them - it’s about connecting with people through our things. By sharing time together thrifting, hosting a swap with friends, or sharing with people in need you can find connection and meaning along with your things.

Repurpose is about thinking outside the box. Reclaiming a material for a new use or creatively upcycling something that would otherwise become waste. And it’s a great chance to connect with others and find inspiration at workshops, creative reuse centers, reclaimed building material stores, and more.

Refill is any chance you get to avoid single-use. You can turn the everyday chore into an opportunity to connect with a local refill store owner, personalize your bulk food packaging or bring your own cup/bottle/bag.

Repair is how we go about fixing more than just our stuff, it's about feeling empowered to mend the world one thing at a time. It’s also about learning new skills, sharing what you know, and getting together to solve problems and overcome obstacles.
