“By being a part of this network I’ve come to realize the true power of collaboration. It’s amazing what can be envisioned when we work together to benefit the whole rather than just struggling separately. Many reuse organizations don’t have enormous resources, but by coming together we can achieve great things.”

Education Opportunities
Members will have access to our innovative and informative Master Reuser ® Program. We offer two types of webinar-based training programs:
Master Reuser® is Reuse Alliance’s “train the trainer” certificate program. This webinar-based training program allows us to support reuse sector organizations from around the country in cost-effective, time-efficient, and eco-friendly manner. Master Reuser® encompasses two separate modules of training: Reuse Sector Training (recruiting now) and Community Advocate Training (coming soon).
The Reuse Sector Training Module is expressly designed for senior managers of reuse enterprises (non-profit and for-profit). The technical assistance provided not only improves individual skills in strategic thinking, marketing, and project development, it can also improve the effectiveness of the participant’s organization by allowing them to take the skills gained from the program to help train staff and volunteers. The series includes (8) 2-hour interactive webinars featuring a professional facilitator and guest speakers. Topics covered include Project Planning and Evaluation, Board & Volunteer Management; Risk & Liabilities, Budgeting, Traditional & Social Marketing, Strategic Partnerships, and Warehousing. The training is free for our members, but space is limited. Due to the subject matter this training module is only appropriate for, and open to, RA members within our Partner category (1 person per member will be chosen to participate). Support for Master Reuser® is being provided by the US EPA.
To apply for the Reuse Sector Training Module, please submit a completed application by March 29, 2010 (this includes your application and your supervisor’s recommendation). You will be notified of your application status by April 5th, and the first workshop is scheduled for April 21st (mark your calendars).
Members receive donation/material referrals through our staff and through online reuse portal, iChooseToReuse.org (coming soon).
While our referrals are not an endorsement of any of the following companies, we have refer you to products & services we know and/have used. Please note that “discounts” are only for dues-paying members, but “referrals” are open to ALL.
The Reuse Alliance is your one-stop resource for capacity-building support. There are a host of dowloadable resources available through our members-only page. A sample of resources currently available include a discussion forum, operational how-to’s & toolkits, a list of relevant reading material, and references to important trade magazine articles . These resources will include electronic presentations and reports, as well as the results of RA’s ongoing materials exchange sector research and analysis.
Research & Development
To follow dynamic changes in the reuse sector, we plan to carry out a variety of research projects in the future. These will include the development of a comprehensive reuse database, and a variety of project-related research (e.g. “Triple Bottom Line Benefits of Reuse”, and the “Reuse Sector Data Standardization Project”).
