Boston Building Resources (BBR) accepts donations of new and used building materials and makes them available for sale at affordable prices. In addition, shoppers who meet BBR’s income guidelines, as well as nonprofit organizations, receive significant discounts off the prices offered to the public. BBR focuses on construction materials that can be reused in a residential setting. Donations to the Reuse Center at Boston Building Resources, founded in 1993, come from contractors, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and homeowners throughout eastern Massachusetts. A donation pick-up service is available, as is a soft deconstruction program, used primarily for kitchen deconstruction. In addition to affordable materials, BBR customers can take advantage of hands-on workshops that teach home repair skills.
